President and CEO of the Huron Chamber and Vistors Bureau Laurie Shelton shared some retail numbers with the city commission Monday night during her semi-annual report.
Shelton said the Chamber has partnered with Retail Strategies to attract new retail business to Huron and support existing retailers. The national firm has completed its baseline reports and now will begin reaching out to companiers that are looking to expand.
Shelton shared some numbers the company has compiled regarding Huron’s trade area.
Retail Strategies estimated the retail demand for the Huron area.
Shelton says Retail Strategies believes Huron has an opportunity to capture an additional $36,000,000.00 in retail dollars.
Shelton says the numbers show there is room for new retail as well as a chance for current retailers to grow.
