SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – U.S. Census Bureau data show people are more likely to live 100 years or longer in North Dakota and South Dakota. Data released this month show North Dakota ranks No. 1 in the number of centenarians per 10,000 people, at 3.29. South Dakota was second at 2.95. Health care providers who work with the elderly say there are several reasons for the longer lives, including advancements in medical care, improvements in public health and more emphasis on nutrition and exercise.
