Governor Dennis Daugaard will be bringing a crew from Pierre to De Smet in May, as the Kingsbury County seat becomes Capital for a Day. Daugaard and other state officials will have round table meetings with De Smet businesses and community leaders on May 10th. There will also be a coffee and constituent-outreach hour that day. De Smet Mayor Gary Wolkow says the town is honored Daugaard has chosen the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder to be Capital for a Day. He says the looks forward to showcasing new businesses, new medical facilities and a new community center.
