The Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour Bull Bash kicks off tonight at 8pm.
This is the fifteenth year the event has been the opening act of the Grandstand entertainment. It is the debut of the Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Tour at the Fair.
Hedeman formed his new venture after a combined 23 years as former head of the two nationally recognized professional bull riding organizations, PBR and CBR.
He retired from competition is 1999.
Hedeman says although the name has changed, fans can expect the same high level of excitement.
Hedeman says there are a few South Dakota competitors among the 44 bull riders competing this year.
Included in that number are Ardie and Corey Maier of Timber Lake. Cory won last year’s Bull Bash.
In addition to the bull riding, Red Wilk will continue his American Hero ceremony, honoring 24 veterans with individual presentations including a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. and a commemorative coin.
