School Nutrition Director Carol Tompkins presented some ideas to Huron Board of Education for cutting costs in the summer nutrition program.
Tompkins says the mobile nutrition program lost a significant amount of money last summer.
Tompkins says she believes reducing the number of stops from three to two would be more efficient and cost-effective.
Since the district is reimbursed for the cost of the meals, the more children the program feeds the better chance it has to break even.
