Beeney busted out of the Beadle County Jail on January 8th after threatening to kill jailers with a device he claimed was a homemade gun. Huron police nearly captured Beeney,l when he evaded them in the Canadian Pacific railroad yard. He then stole a pick-up truck from a rural Beadle County residence and drove to Sioux Falls where he was apprehended that evening. The 45-year-old is currently in the State Penitentiary serving a two year sentence on an aggravated eluding in Jerauld County. Beeney has a history of escapes and attempted escapes. He has warrants out for his arrest in his home state of Kansas.
