With dangerously cold wind chills forecast through Thursday morning, Kimberly Krueger, executive director of the Beadle County Humane Society is reminding pet owners to take precautions to keep their animals safe.
You are asked to bring pets indoors during the frigid weather. If you own an outdoor pet, Krueger reminds you to make sure they have adequate bedding and that they aren’t exposed to the winds.
Krueger says that pets should be properly tethered before you take them outside in order to lessen the risk of the animal taking off and getting lost.
If you see a pet in need of shelter, you are asked please call the humane society at 352-8955 or after hours at 353-8550 to have an animal control officer dispatched.
