Much of July in the area was hot and muggy.
However, according to KELO-TV meteorologist Scot Mundt, July ends on a much different note.
Mundt says a system up at Hudson Bay in Canada is accounting for the cooler conditions.
Mundt says that system is similar to what caused the cold and snow last winter.
