Antique Power Show This Weekend

The Huron area antique power association will be holding their 15th annual show this weekend on the state fairgrounds. On display will be restored farm equipment going back as far as the early 1900’s. This year the show will feature John Deere farm equipment and Gade stationary engines. While most would be familiar with John Deere, the Gade brand is relatively rare. Paul Johnson of brookings heads up the Gade collectors, and says these engines can’t be found alot anymore….

Johnson says stationary engines were a mainstay on most farms before rural electricity became available….

Johnson says up to two dozen of the Gade engines will be on display. The show will be held on the southwest corner of the state fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday, and admission is free.
