American Farm Bureau and National Farmers Union Launch Campaign To Address Opioid Crisis In Rural America

The American Farm Bureau and the National Farmers Union have launched a new campaign to address the growing problem of opioid abuse in rural America. It’s called “Farm Town Strong.”

Will Rodger, Directory of Policy Communication for the Farm Bureau, says they started the campaign because 74 percent of farmers and ranchers are either addicted to opioids, or know someone who is.

He says “Farm Town Strong” provides resources for those in rural America who need help battling opioid addiction.

Rodger says leaders of both groups will be holding discussions on overcoming the opioid crisis at the Farm Bureau’s annual convention in Nashville next week.

Rodger says more information can be found online at Farm Town Strong dot org.
