The Huron City Commission holds it’s first meeting of the new year tonight. Commissioners will consider a payment request for the East Water Tower project and a combined election agreement with the Huron School District. The Commission will consider an intergovernmental agreement with Beadle County regarding building inspector Roger Bell, and a master lease agreement between Central Park L-L-C and the City of Huron. Also up for consideration is an investment fund and put agreement between the City and US Bankcorp. Departmental items including consideration of property and inland marine insurance, approval of full time status for police chief Gary Will and and accepting the resignation of police officer Matt Leddon. Other human resource items include consideration of issuing a civil service call and posting for a police officer job and two items relating to the solid waste department. The Commission will also make announcements regarding the Martin Luther King holiday. The Huron City Commission will meet at 5:30 at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
