The Huron City Commission will take to the dais one final time in 2011 to finish out end of the year business this afternoon. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments for a variance request regarding the construction of a three seasons room by Gene and Carla Schonley. When the Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider two change orders for infrastructure projects and hold a public hearing to consider recommending to the State Revenue Department that the liquor licenses held by Werner Fajardo, owner of the El Cuervo bar and and dance club, be suspended or revoked.. The Commission will consider an intergovernmental agreement with Beadle County regarding Building Inspector Roger Bell, a contract for City Attorney Gerry Kaufman and a lease with the Rolling Thunder Kart Club. Commissioners will consider three items related to street work on 9th Street from Lincoln to Frank Avenues and Frank Avenues from 3rd to 14th Streets and will hold second reading of an ordinance that lowers the age for fire department personnel to 18. The Commission will also consider the certified pay schedule for 2012 and a lease agreement for golf carts. The Commission will close out the meeting in executive session for a personnel matter. The Huron City Commission will be meeting at Noon at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
