Two local groups are encouraging residents about giving as the year comes to a close. The United Way Heartland Region has extended it’s fundraising campaign until the end of the year. The United Way has 95-percent of it’s goal in and is only 12-thousand, 500 dollars short. The United Way Board is confident, that with the deadline extension, the goal can be met. The United Way has reached it’s for the past 12 years. Meanwhile the Huron Community Foundation is reminding individuals and businesses that year-end gifts to the Foundation are easy to make. The H-C-F has awarded 63 grants since 2006 totalling 95-thousand 950 dollars. Information on giving to either the United Way Heartland Region or the Huron Community Foundation is listed below:
