A Minnesota man accused of striking a De Smet teenager with his truck and killing him will be re-arraigned at the Kingsbury County courthouse today. The lawyer for 28-year-old James Harris filed a request for a new judge in the case. Attorney Jeff Burns of Huron declined to comment on why the request to remove Judge Tim Steele from the case was made. Judge Jon Erickson of Huron has been assigned the Harris case Steele found probable cause to continue court proceedings against Harris at a preliminary hearing in October. Harris is charged with vehicular homicide, hit and run and drunk driving. He’s being held in the Beadle County Jail in Huron on a 250-thousand dollar bond.
