The city of Mitchell is on a roll and appears to be on track for an even brighter future.
Mitchell Area Development Corporation CEO Mike Lauritsen says the “wins” are stacking up. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development recently named Mitchell as economic development Community of the Year. Like most communities across South Dakota, workforce shortages are the biggest obstacle to future growth.
Lauritsen says building the city’s inventory of housing is key to future success.
The 500-million dollar High Plains Processing plant is will open for business this fall.
