The Huron City Commission will consider a conditional use permit and variance while meeting as the Board of Adjustments to begin tonight’s City Commission meeting. The City Commission will consider a change order for a water main project and a payment request for the East Water tower. Commissioners will also consider setting a bid date to take bids on the construction of the Huron Aquatic Center, to be constructed as a part of the Central Park project. A public hearing will be held on the transfer of a liquor license from Chekker’s to Corner Pantry and the Commission will consider a developer’s agreement with the Greater Huron Development Corporation for the Central Park project. Commissioners will hear second reading of an revised snow removal ordinance and will consider using the Request for Proposal process for the contracting of towing services. Commissioners will consider the resignation of Tom Beerman from the Public Safety Committee and a recommendation from that committee to eliminate the at-large post that Beerman held, meaning a replacement for Beerman would not be needed. The Commission will handle two litigation matters in executive session and will hold a work session regarding the contract for E-911 service with Hand County. The Huron City Commission will meet tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
