Legislature's Property Tax Assessment Committee Meet On Ag Land Assessments

The Property Tax Assessment Committee of the South Dakota legislature met late last month to get an update on the changes ongoing with the state property tax system. Some of the concerns during the initial debate was ag land being developed near cities. Rhoden says that is not a big issue…

He said heavy opposition forced lawmakers to remove that section of the law.  Rhoden says lawmakers agree they need to let the law progress without tinkering for a few years…
