Officers Commended For Saving Woman In River

Four Huron police officers have been acknowledged for their teamwork and bravery following the rescue of a woman Sunday night who jumped off the Third Street Bridge into the James River in an apparent suicide attempt. Huron Mayor Dave McGirr requested Will thank the officers in person on his behalf. The woman was in the water approximately 33 minutes, before officers were able to coax her close enough to shore to where Spinsby could enter the water and pull her to safety.
