SIOUX FALLS, SD – A Fort Thompson man accused of assaulting another person has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison. Thirty-three-year-old Phillip St. John was accused of hitting and kicking his mother’s male roommate during an argument at her home in Stephan in April, and also putting his foot on the man’s throat. He pleaded guilty in July to assault with a deadly weapon. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says St. John was sentenced this week to 32 months in custody to be followed by two years of supervised release.
