Huron Police Department will be participating in the 38th annual National Night Out on Tuesday August 2nd at Campbell park. Last year over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. Over 37 million people participated a year ago. Captain Mark Johnson with the Huron PD talks about Huron’s participation has changed.
Johnson said it provides an opportunity for organizations to work with the public on a fun evening.
The Night is designed to strengthen community spirit and police community partnerships.
He said there are still opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Huron’s largest block party will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday August 2nd at Campbell Park. Raffles, games, inflatables and emergency vehicles for the kids to check out. Its all free to attend.
