GRASS CLIPPING REMINDER

Lawn moving in the Summer is a regular occurrence.  Spring and Summer rains are as well and the combination of grass clipping in the gutter and runoff into them cause storm drains to work poorly.  Bob Simpson, superintendent of Huron street department said the grass clippings in the gutter are starting to cause a problem.

Simpson said this is a good time to get out an early Summer reminder.

Each year the city commission reminds residents that it is a city ordinance to not discharge grass clippings into the street.

City green yard waste containers are also available for sale from the solid waste department.
