Huron, S.d. – Huron residents are invited and encouraged to be a part of this year’s Ravine Lake Triathlon Saturday, July 30, 2022, by entering, volunteering or sponsoring the event which will benefit the Huron Tiger boys’ basketball team.
This triathlon began as a way to show off Huron’s oasis of fun with Ravine Lake and Putter’s and Scoops and has grown to be a favorite competitive event for casual and serious triathletes. It begins at 7:30 a.m. with an Olympic distance, followed by the traditional Sprint course at 8:00 a.m.
Kids are also invited to join in a free fun run which will take place about 9:30 or 10:00 a.m. All participants get a treat from Putters and Scoops.
The cost to register before July 4 is $50 per person or $75 for a team. After July 4, the cost raises to $60 per person or $100 for a team. Cost includes a commemorative t-shirt. New this year, Ravine Lake Triathlon is partnering with the Huron Tiger boys’ basketball team. Players and coaches are helping with the event and some of the proceeds will benefit the team. Sponsorship opportunities are still available at $500, $250 or $100 levels. Donations of door prizes water, Gatorade, fruit and other refreshments are also welcomed. The committee is looking for volunteers to help direct racers, hand out water, monitor the swim in a kayak or on a jet ski or help at registration.
