Rivers Rise James at Huron Down

Heavy rains again this week pushed rivers and streams back toward and over flood stage.  Mike Gillispie, a hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, says it doesn’t take a lot of rain to push the rivers up quickly…

For the moment the James River at Huron has fallen below the 11-foot flood stage level and the Flood Warning for the James River at Huron has been cancelled, however flooding continues in spots along the James in Beadle County and Flood Warnings continue on the James in Spink, Sanborn and Davison Counties.
