Tuesday ISG engineering made a presentation to downtown Huron building owners. Greater Huron Development Corporation contracted with them to provide an opportunity for free to make recommendations for improvements to the facade of building. With the reconstruction of Dakota avenue in downtown Huron in two years GHDC and ISG said now is the time to make plans for those improvements. Matt Laboy, engineer with ISG said one of the things they will do is a structural analysis.
Laboy talked about what their assessment would include.
ISG architect talked about how their report will help building owners.
ISG was part of the improvements to 145 Dakota avenue south. A facade dating back to the 1960’s was removed to recover the original look of the building. Owner of the building Jeff Pownell talked about bringing the building back to its original state and why the facade improvement program with GHDC is a good idea.
Information on the facade grant program available to downtown building owners, between Ohio and Iowa avenue and Market to 5th street is available at the GHDC web site. http://greaterhuron.com
