WYOMING WATER TOWER REMOVAL 6/23/2001

At Monday nights Huron City Commission meeting, assistant city engineer Dennis Bennett took the opportunity to let the commission and city residents know that the Wyoming Water tower at 6th and Wyoming in Huron will be removed this week.

The last of Huron’s 20th century water towers was put into use in 1928 and taken out of use as a water storage component in 2015.  Following that it was used to lift antennae into a usable height.  On Wednesday at 7 am Iseler Demolition will begin the process of salvaging the structure.  The tower removal will allow for improvements of Bob Bushman park where the tower sits.  The park was named for Bushman earlier this year.  Bushman was a loyal supporter of Huron’s Little League Program.
