ANGELHAUS HURON- TO OPEN IN MAY

After 59 years in operation The Violet Tschetter Memorial home in Huron closed in the spring of 2019.  The facility was closed due to underfunding from state reimbursement from medicaid causing inability to sustain operations.  The building will reopen next month with a new purpose.  Angelhaus with centers in Aberdeen and Yankton will operate a Behavioral Health center in the Violet Tcshetter building.  Nathan Gelhaus was asked about his families history of three generations in healthcare facilities.

Gelhaus’ uncle who was a minister moved back to Aberdeen to get involved in the family operation.  He opened Gelhaus 2 in 1995.

Gelhaus said the center closes a gap in care that is available.  He talks about what Angelhaus offers.

Behavioral health is a need that will always be with us Nathan said Angelhaus in Huron will address that need.

Angelhaus in Huron will offer capacity for 44 residents in private rooms.  Gelhaus talks about how the opportunity with the Violet Tschetter building came about.

Angelhaus in Huron is set to open May 3.  For more information on the facility go to angel.haus/huron
