DAKOTA AVE PLANS IN PROGRESS FOR 2024 CONSTRUCTION

Earlier this month in a work session the Huron City Commission took a look at plans for upgrades on Dakota Avenue in Huron, SD highway 37.  A project scheduled for 2024 which is now is the planning stages.  Huron mayor Gary Harrington talks about what was discussed.

It is in the early stages but Harrington said contrary to most streets in Huron, Dakota Avenue is a state highway so the final decision is up to the Dot.

The public input period is open now until February 5th.  With Covid restrictions in place all of the plans and video presentations are online.  Go to Dot.sd.gov, click on public meetings and select SD 37 in Huron.  Public comments are welcome to submit online.
