NEW APPROACH SD CONCERNED ABOUT PAST MEASURE VOTES

With two marijuana measures on the November 3rd general election ballot for SD voters and just under 5 weeks before election day. More information from both sides is sure to come. We spoke with Melissa Mentele the campaign manager with New Approach South Dakota. She said they are concerned about the recent history of initiated measures in South Dakota.

Mentele says that IM26 should not be a political issue and talks about the importance of people having control of their health decisions.

She said opponents of IM26 are creating problems that are only speculative.

SD farm bureau released a statement referring to the dangers working on the farm and concerns of Amendment A which they oppose. IM 26 was not mentioned. Mentally said an important side benefit from medicinal marijuana legalization is the bump in tax revenue for the state.

Absentee voting is open now.  Contact your county auditor office for more information.
