Governor Kristi Noem was in Huron Wednesday speaking with selected parents. She heard of the district plans to start the school year with an option of distance learning. She talked about what was discussed.
When schools begin children will have been out of building for over five months. She said what was learned in that time was having kids out of school did not work.
From events such as the July 4th fireworks display at Mount Rushmore, the Sioux Empire Fair and the Sturgis Rally currently underway. The state has taken an approach of advising communities on how to handle those activities if they decide to hold them.
