The results are after a week of voting and commentson the latest Performance Radio News poll on Facebook. Dubbed Pools versus Schools, respondents to the unscientific poll answered what they thought given the fact the Huron Community has raised nearly two-thirds of the three-millions dollars needed to build the Central Park project, but a five-year, one-point-five dollar opt-out proposed by the Huron School District failed last week. 54 people took part in the poll. 38 or 70-percent, or said it makes Huron look bad. 14 or 26-percent said yes it’s ironic, but its not fair to compare raising money for Central Park and funding a school district. Only two voted that it makes sense, that the pool fundraising is thriving while the school district will struggle to make it’s budget work next year. Those two represented four-percent of respondents. Four people left comments on the poll. Mindy Eden responded quote…”well…the bright side is that when all those teachers are let go…they can get a job at the water park“. Cara Green-Osier commented quote… The problem is the dollars for Central Park is all donated willingly by some and the LITTLE BIT of extra taxes on our property would be mandatory for all”. Keith Osier felt many who gave money for Central Park probably voted in favor of the opt out. A big thank you to everyone who responded to the News Poll on Facebook, and keep listening to Performance Radio and checking out Performance Radio on Facebook for future news polls.
