City Commission Quick Hits From July 25th

The Huron City Commission met Monday night and approved a number of items on its agenda. The Commission awarded two bids Monday night. The Commission accepted the City of Aberdeen’s 20-thousand dollar bid for an asphalt zipper machine. The Commission also awarded a bid for a replacement belt on the Solid Waste baler. Commissioners approved the Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau request for a Special Event On-Sale Alcohol license for the Chamber’s next Mixer to be held at the World’s Largest Pheasant. A steel frame for a five-row bleacher was surplussed along with four bases. A three member appraisal committee was appointed to give a value to the items. The Commission also approve the use of two library volunteers and the hiring of a part-time year round library clerk.
