Ethanol Plant Seeks To Use Storm Water In Processes

POET Bio refinery plant officials in Loomis want to be able to use storm water as part of their efforts to improve their environmental footprint. Plant General Manager Dean Frederickson says they want to use the storm water rather than discharging it but need a state permit to do that. He says it fits in well with the company’s environmental goals.

Frederickson says they have to apply for and receive a state permit in order to be able to use the storm water and are currently going through a 30 day comment period before hopefully getting final approval. He says they’re producing ethanol and dry and wet feed and hope to add this recent environmental benefit to all that.

Frederickson says the Bio refinery has two storm water storage ponds ready to go once they get the final approval from the state.
