The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will meet as the Board of Adjustments to consider three variance requests Two of the variances have been filed by James Valley Housing requesting set-back changes for two properties. The third variance is filed by Ervin and Jean Eckmann. The Eckmann’s are in the process of selling the property along 21st Street to Matt and Lori Rathjen, as the Rathjen’s want to build additional storage units near existing units along 21st street. When the City Commission reconvenes they will consider a plat filed by the Eckmanns, that is related to their variance. Commissioners will also consider a payment request for an asphalt overlay project and appointments to the Planning Commission. The Huron City Commission will also meeting in executive session for negotiations. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
