Huron City Commission Quick Hits From July 11th

The Huron City Commission need just over 20 minutes to go through their agenda of items last night. Commissioners approved the bid by Flint Hills to purchase road oil for chip sealing. A bid date of August 1st was set for LED Street Lights. A second bid date of July 25th was set for a replacement belt for the solid waste baler. Four payment requests were also approved.. Commissioners approved a retail on-off sale malt beverage license filed by Natalias Bakery and Restaurant on Dakota Avenue in downtown. The Commission approved an appraisal value of 17-thousand dollars for a surplus asphalt zipper. City Engineer Mike Wever says there has been interest in the zipper from the Belle Fourche and Aberdeen areas. Bids will be accepted on the zipper until July 25th. The Commission approved five human resource items for various city departments. Commission also met in executive session for negotiations and held a work session on the 2012 City Budget.
