Superintendent Reports on Bullying Prevention Data

Monday night, Huron Superintendent Terry Nebelsick shared bullying prevention data with the Huron Board of Education.

The data was for the 2018/2019 school year.

Nebelsick said there were 46 bullying incidents reported in the district during the previous school year.

Despite increased enrollment the number of incidents is in line with recent years.

Nebelsick said of the founded incidents, seven perpetrators and seven victims were identified.

In his experience, Nebelsick said the years of adolescence presents the greatest challenge for educators.

Nebelsick said separating the 6th grade from older students in the middle school has been effective in limiting the number of bullying incidents.
