The South Dakota Department of Transportation is advising motorists that Interstate 90 is closed from the junction of Highway 281 to Mitchell. Traffic is being redirected to use highways 37, 34 and 281.
Numerous other roadways north and south of I-90 have No Travel Advisories posted due to water over the road.
Crews are reporting water going over the roadway in many locations, approaches have gone underwater and many locations have water up to the roadway. Signs and barricades are being placed.
Motorists are asked to stay off flooded roadways and find alternate routes, keeping in mind, local roadways may also be flooded.
