The City Commission also acknowledged the receipt of petitions for a recall of Mayor Dave McGirr. City Attorney Gerry Kaufman laid out the path the City Commission must take. That includes confirming that enough valid signatures have been collected, setting an election date 10 days after receipt of the signatures and notifying the South Dakota Secretary of State’s office. A plat request was deffered for two weeks because a revised version of the plat was not available for Commissioners to review. City Planner Ralph Borkowski was appointed to the Green Energy Task Force. Parking spaces on Arizona Aveneu Northwest near Terex and Horizontal Machining were eliminated by request of the Public Safety Committee and three human resource items were approved. The Commission approved the surplusing of an asphalt zipper machine and appointed an appraisal committee. In a work session the Huron City Commission reviewed the E-911 contracts with three area counties. The Huron City Commission will not meet next week because of the Forth of July holiday.
