Huron Residents Asked to Stop Putting Plastic Grocery Bags in Recycling

The cost of taking the city of Huron’s recycling to Millennium Recycling in Sioux Falls is increasing.

City planner Ralph Borkowski says the increase will take effect in July 1st.

Also city residents are asked to discontinue putting plastic grocery bags in their recycling containers.

Borkowski says there is not enough value in the bags and they are hard on moving parts.

Beginning October 1st Millennium Recycling will charge more for loads containing plastic grocery bags.
