The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work to replace a bridge located three miles east of Polo or 2.75 miles west of Highway 45 on Highway 26 will begin Friday, May 10.
Highway 26 will be closed to traffic between 357th Avenue and 358th Avenue and motorists will need to find an alternate route during the construction.
Prahm Construction, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $2.2 million project.
The expected completion date for the structure is August 2019, with an overall completion date of Nov. 1, 2019.
