At last night’s Huron Board of Education meeting, business manager Kelly Christopherson presented information on several proposed construction projects at the high school, middle school, and the arena. Koch Hazard Architects are working with the district on the projects.
Christopherson says a Workforce Education Development grant available through the state may allow the district to build an addition to the Vocational School. He says this is something the district has wanted to do for a long time.
Christopherson said this would allow students to build a house indoors which means they could work year-round on the project.
The board approved a resolution to issue capital outlay certificates up to $6.6 million. The final amount will be determined at a later date, once the district knows if the grant has been awarded.
