Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its February Exceptional Employee of the Month, Peggy Galvin with a reception on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
Galvin, who has worked as a cook in HRMC’s food service department for more than a year, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Peggy always has a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.”
“Peggy is always willing to bring anything we need to medical floor with absolutely no hesitation,” the nomination continued. “She is always so happy, it’s a joy to interact with her and I look forward to seeing that kind and encouraging smile.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As February exceptional employee, Galvin received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Galvin has three daughters and one son and enjoys spending time with them when she’s not working. During the summer, she also enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening and baking.
Patients or visitors can nominate an exceptional employee by calling 605 353-6539 for a nomination form or via e-mail at [email protected].
