Volunteers interested in sharing your time and talents with hospice patients and their families are invited to a volunteer meeting Tuesday, February 27, at 3:00 p.m. in the HRMC Legacy Plaza Auditorium.
Attendees will learn about being a hospital volunteer and engage in an activity that will help them think and feel deeply about what they value – what matters most. The goal is to learn about thinking critically about own our wishes for quality of life at end-of life, which in turn helps us work with those we care for in making decisions. Information about Advanced Care Planning and how to have a meaningful conversation with a doctor regarding wishes for end-of-life care. The meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about hospice or about becoming a volunteer and would also benefit anyone who is a caregiver of a loved one.
HRMC Community Hospice volunteers play an important role in bringing hospice’s unique services to patients and their families. Volunteers can choose to assist in the following areas: patient and family care, special events and fundraising and office support.
