The Huron Community Foundation (HCF) is accepting 2019 grant applications from February 15 to April 1. This marks the 14th consecutive year of HCF grants, with $86,270 available for distribution this year.
Grants will be awarded from the Huron Community Foundation, Wheeler Family Fund, Matthesen Family Fund and the Entwisle Family Fund. These named funds were established by individuals, families, and organizations under the umbrella of the HCF as a legacy to their community.
Non-profit organizations are encouraged to submit applications for programs or projects that address an unmet need in the community and will enhance the quality of life for Huron residents. Capital improvements, innovative projects, and seed grants are also eligible for consideration.
Foundation grants are normally between $500 and $10,000, with exceptions considered based on the merit of individual proposals. Larger funding requests and multi-year funding requests may be submitted for projects with significant community-wide impact.
Grant applications and scoring criteria are online at HuronCommunityFoundation.org.
Electronic grant applications are preferred, however paper applications are also available at the Huron Chamber office. Applications must be received by April 1, with grant awards announced by May 15th.
To date, the HCF has over $3 million permanently endowed to benefit the Huron community. This year’s grants will bring the Foundation’s support of community organizations to $395,614 since its inception in 2004.
