Firefighters from Mitchell and Alexandria battled sub-freezing temperatures and limited water resources fighting a structure fire in western Hanson County Monday night.
Mitchell Assistant Fire Chief Marius Laursen says the property owners saw smoke coming from the barn around 5:30 and called for help. He says firefighters found the structure engulfed in flames when they arrived and went to work….
Laursen says firefighters were extra careful to keep hoses, pumps and water supplies from freezing…..
He says the cause is undetermined right now and the Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate.
