State Senate Votes to Support President’s Border Wall

The South Dakota State Senate has voted overwhelmingly to support President Trump’s border wall.

The Wall Resolution is the brainchild of Republican State Senator Stace Nelson, and it’s personal.

Thursday’s vote was 28-to-5 in the Republican-controlled State Senate, as the partial federal government shutdown dragged through its 20th day.

Minority Democrats, including Senator Craig Kennedy of Yankton, argue that the resolution sends the wrong signal to the rest of the world about people crossing the border only for a better chance in life. They say it’s just politics.
