Five Variances A Part Of Huron City Commission Meeting Tonight

Five variances await the Huron City Commission tonight as they will start their meeting by meeting as the Board of Adjustments for those requests. When reconvening to the City Commission, Commissioners will consider a change order and a request from the Beadle County Chapter of the Izzac Walton League for shotgun shooting at the old gun range for the Step Outside Event in June. The Commission will consider a funding request by the Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau and a request of Alcohol consumption in a public area. A resolution authorizing the creation of a Business Improvement District and three first reading of ordinances are tonight. The meeting will end with 10 departmental items ranging from declaring a fire truck as surplus and establishing an appraisal committee, hiring requests and appointing board members to the Business Improvement District. The Commission will also announce changes for the Memorial Day holiday. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
