Sentencing Set For Credit Union Robber

The Huron man has been sentenced after pleaded guilty to breaking into the M-O Federal Credit Union in October of 2010. Cory Bender had been employed by the Credit Union as a maintainence worker. He used a work key to enter the building. Once inside he opened a safe and took nearly 20-thousand dollars in cash. Bender broke a window to make it look like some forced their way inside. Bender was arrested later that day after police questioned Credit Union employees. Chief US District Judge Karen E. Schreier. sentenced the 30 year-old Bender, to five months in custody followed by five months of home detention. He was also ordered to pay over $500 in restitution.
