Rounds Co-Sponsors Border Wall Funding Bill

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds is a co-sponsor of a bill that would spend up to twenty-five billion dollars on a border wall with Mexico.

A report from the Pew Research Center found that illegal border crossings have dropped from one point six million in 2000, to under one hundred fifty thousand in 2017.

Rounds says they don’t really know if the new border security could totally shut off illegal crossings.

Rounds says the border security system would shut off more than people.

Rounds says their bill would also step up visa enforcement.

President Trump has threatened a government shutdown later this month if Congress does not fund the border wall.
