Mayor Says ServiceLine Warranties Letters Aren’t a Scam

The city has been contacted by residents asking if letters they received from a company called ServiceLine Warranties of America are legitimate.

Mayor Paul Aylward says its not a scam. Back in July, the city authorized a marketing agreement with the company.

Aylward says the program is voluntary and residents are not required to participate.

Aylward says many communities have entered into agreements with ServiceLine Warranties, including Aberdeen.

According to its website, ServiceLine Warranties offers repair plans to local homeowners by partnering with municipalities and cities and works with a network of professional contractors to handle water, sewer, gas line repairs.
