Schmitz Resigns as Huron Tiger Head Football Coach

Huron Tiger head coach Michael Schmitz announced his resignation today after four years.
Huron is coming off its most successful season in 25 years, finishing 6 and 6 and finishing runner up in 11AA.
Schmitz says the head coaching duties could take away from the football part.
Schmitz wants to stay connected to the program.
He says it was time to step back.
During his four years as head coach, Schmitz was selected twice to coach is the South Dakota all
star game, and was selected region coach of the year in 2016.
Huron Activities Director Terry Rotert says the position will open immediately.
